Historic Long Grove to Host Strawberry Fest, June 26–28
LONG GROVE, IL — Summer in Long Grove officially begins with strawberries. From June 26–28, 2026, Historic Downtown Long Grove will once again transform into a lively celebration of music, food, family fun, and strawberry-filled indulgence as the village hosts its legendary Strawberry Fest.
For decades, Strawberry Fest has been one of the Northwest suburbs’ signature summer traditions, drawing visitors from across the region to a historic downtown known for its colorful buildings, iconic covered bridge, and unmistakable small-town charm. In recent years, Long Grove’s timeless atmosphere has even caught Hollywood’s attention, serving as the backdrop for multiple film productions and helping cement the village’s reputation as one of the Chicago area’s most picturesque destinations.
During Strawberry Fest, the entire town comes alive. This is not simply a festival tucked onto a side street or parking lot. The whole village becomes part of the experience. Boutiques, restaurants, tasting rooms, candy shops, patios, and cafés all join the celebration with strawberry-inspired specials, themed merchandise, seasonal cocktails, desserts, and surprises around nearly every corner.
A Weekend Filled With Strawberry Flavor
Festivalgoers can expect an endless variety of strawberry-themed creations ranging from nostalgic favorites to inventive new twists. Past offerings have included chocolate-dipped strawberries, strawberry daiquiris, strawberry popcorn, strawberry rhubarb pie, strawberry shakes, strawberry funnel cakes, strawberry cookies, specialty candies, and even strawberry-inspired soaps, candles, and gifts throughout downtown shops. Food vendors stationed throughout the village will also serve festival staples and summertime favorites, making Strawberry Fest as much a culinary adventure as a music festival.
Live Music Across the Village
Three stages of live entertainment will keep the energy flowing all weekend long, featuring everything from nationally touring tribute acts to crowd-favorite local performers. This year’s Main Stage lineup includes:
Friday: Sixteen Candles, Loudernow, Daniel Cronson Band, The Dreamers, and more
Saturday: Sons of Chicago (Springsteen & Seger Tribute), Petty Kings, Mellencougar, Midnight Rider, and more
Sunday: KennyLive, Tennessee Whiskey, and Wagon Wheel Trio
Additional family programming and entertainment will take place throughout Fountain Square and around downtown. Visit the website for the full stage lineup.
Old-School Summer Fun Still Exists Here
Part of what makes Strawberry Fest special is its throwback spirit. Families can spend the day riding carnival rides, playing midway games, listening to live music, and wandering the village with strawberry treats in hand.
One longtime crowd favorite returning once again is the famous strawberry pie-eating contest, a delightfully messy (and free) tradition that feels straight out of another era and perfectly captures the playful spirit of Long Grove. It is the kind of simple summer fun that keeps families coming back generation after generation.
A Festival Town Like Few Others
Long Grove has become famous for its festivals, but Strawberry Fest remains one of its defining events. There are bigger festivals in Chicagoland, but very few offer this combination of atmosphere, walkability, history, and charm. Whether visitors come for the live music, the food, the shopping, or simply the experience of spending a summer day in one of Illinois’ most beloved historic towns, Strawberry Fest continues to stand apart in a crowded festival season.
