Today, ICE agents shot to death 37 year old Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. Pretti was using his cell phone to record video of the agents when he was taken to the ground. When the agents discovered Pretti had a gun on his person, he was fatally shot. He has a license to carry a concealed firearm.

Customs and Border Commander Greg Bovino held a press conference and claimed Pretti rushed the agents with his weapon drawn. Bovino went on to assert that the agent who fired was acting in self defense. This is clearly contradicted by the video.

So far, there are two clear videos of the incident. You see Pretti coming towards the agents with his cell phone in his hands as they are scuffling with a woman. Pretti is then taken to the ground as they attempt to hand cuff him. There are 5 agents involved. Pretti is resisting and the agents are seen hitting and kicking him.

One of the agents spots Pretti’s weapon holstered in the back of his waist. That is when Pretti is shot multiple times killing him.

Immigration and Customs personnel swarmed the scene and fired tear gas at the growing crowd. Shortly thereafter, they left the scene.

It was announced the FBI will not conduct the investigation of this matter which is a serious departure from standard practice. The Department of Homeland Security will instead conduct its own investigation.
