Lake County’s own Justice Elizabeth M. Rochford has been appointed as Supreme Court Liaison. In the November 2022 election cycle, Rochford won to become the Justice of the Illinois Supreme Court 2nd District. This important responsibility will help to foster a improved working relations among attorneys, judges and the Supreme Court.

The Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism is pleased to announce that Illinois Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Rochford has been appointed as our next Supreme Court Liaison. Justice Rochford assumes the role from Chief Justice Mary Jane Theis, who was sworn in as Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice in November 2022.
As Supreme Court Liaison, Justice Rochford will oversee the collaboration between the Commission, which uses education to promote professionalism among the state’s lawyers and judges, and the Illinois Supreme Court.
