The College of Lake County has decided to delay the start of the spring semester to January 24th. This is due to the surging rate of new covid-19 infections. The omicron mutation is highly successful and is much more transmissible than previous strains of the virus. Cases around the world and in Lake County have surged to record levels. The high rate of transmission and holiday gathering is behind the explosion of infection.

When students do return to in person learning, N95 masks will be available for students and strict social distancing will be maintained. Clinicals and non-credit classes are also expected to start on Tuesday.

Students whose classes are online will start on January 18th.
