Lake County Board Member Terry Wilke has exhibited disturbing behavior by attacking a Township Supervisor on his blog. Michele Bauman serves as Supervisor of Avon Township, and she is the victim of sexual harassment by one of Wilke’s supporters. This is well documented by police investigators who gathered and analyzed numerous pieces of electronic evidence (see report below). She also spoke about the incident and video can be seen here.

Wilke was both Avon Township Supervisor and a County Board Member until this past April when Bauman ran for supervisor and soundly defeated him with election results coming in at her 72% to his 28%. Upon loosing, Wilke decided to use his blog to wage attacks, with Bauman being a frequent target. Records confirm the domain name, avontownship.com, was registered by Wilke.

The sexual harassment of Bauman began in May following the election. She finally filed a police report on July. The Wilke supporter acknowledged to police that HE repeatedly approached Bauman. Further confirmation of Bauman being on the receiving end came in the form of an order of protection by a Lake County court judge.

Blaming victims and making baseless accusations is unacceptable under any circumstances. This is not the kind of behavior that we can accept from any elected official.

Even though she is the victim of harassment, Wilke tried to flip it around and publicly accused Bauman of offering his campaign supporter sex and money in exchange for dirt on Wilke.
