The Trump and Truth Store first opened in Huntley by Lisa Fleischmann until it shut down in July of last year. Now it is coming back in Crystal Lake.
The Huntley location was forced to close due to multiple sign code violations, particularly a life sized inflatable of Trump that waved to motorists on Rt 47. The closure came as a settlement with the landlord.
Now Fleischmann has found a new location and promises it will be bigger, better and stronger. “It’s really big,” she added. “I definitely get my steps in every day.”
The store will offer a variety of MAGA themed merchandise including mugs, flags, sweat shirts and banners. T-shirt designs include an “ICE ICE BABY” statement with Trump dressed up as an ICE agent.
The store had a soft open in December. Fleischmann intends to have a grand opening in March with a ribbon cutting. Trump bingo games for children will be available and there will be a mock oval office for photos. Customers will be able to hang out at the new store and sit at bar stools, drink coffee and watch tv.
The Crystal Lake location is in an industrial area. In a report, Fleischmann expressed her satisfaction with the new location.
“I think where I’m located is way better. Because blue-collar people are way more awake than people who actually went to college and stuff,” she said. “I love the area I’m in. I absolutely love it. I’ve gotten so much positive feedback. Just people passing by.”
