The Memorial Day parade in Lake Villa was a particularly well attended event. With perfect sunny weather, the downtown streets were filled with parade goers excited by the long procession of floats and displays.

The lineup was headed by VHW Post 4038. A long list of elected officials also joined the procession, which included Mayor Jim McDonald, Congressman Brad Schneider, State Senator Mary Edly-Allen, State Representative Tom Weber and College of Lake County Trustee Allena Barbato. Filling out the ranks was a large of group of businesses and organizations such as the Lake Villa Township Democrats, Lake County Democrats, Indivisible Western Lake County, Daisy’s Artish Cafe, Barbeque Productions and many more.

The parade was followed by a recognition hosted by the VFW Post 4038 of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
