LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 53 year old Lake Villa woman stands accused of punching a 72 year old neighbor before stealing her US flag from the side of the victim’s house then running down the street with it.
According to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Kristi B. Tyler, 53, of the 37700 block of North Delaby Road in unincorporated Lake Villa is now charged with aggravated battery to a victim over the age of 60, aggravated battery – causing bodily harm and aggravated battery in a public place.
The incident occured on May 1st around 3pm. When deputies arrived, they found the 72 old victim with a knee injury and cuts to her face.
According to the release, Tyler charged at the victim who did not provoke her, punched the vicitm knocking her to the ground, then took the US flag before running down the street with it.
Police quickly detained Tyler who remains incarcerated.
